Assurance (Management System) and Compliance Engineer

To evaluate, develop and improve the CARES’ management system to comply with all relevant accreditation standards and achieve customer service standards. 

Work with staff to establish policies, manuals, procedures, work instructions and systems.  To evaluate, develop and improve the competence management of all staff.

Ensure CARES’ management systems and independent test laboratories are audited in accordance with the internal audit programme and improve the performance of those management systems.

To establish and report key performance indicators to improve service delivery performance. Provide and assist systems training and technical support to all staff.

Carry out required coordination of accreditation body (UKAS, SAC) annual head office audits and witness field audits.  Provide clear and concise feedback and reports to the General Manager and CEO as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience: you will ideally be educated to degree standard, or equivalent, in a relevant branch of engineering, ideally environmental, sustainability or industrial engineering.  Preferably a Chartered Engineer and Member of a professional institution.  Direct experience of Management Systems, Quality Assurance and ISO 17021 / ISO 17065 standards.  Certificate in System Management or similar or be able to demonstrate enough knowledge and experience.  Relevant industrial experience.  Preferably qualified to ‘lead auditor’ status.  In depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and requirements.   Comfortable with learning, operating and implementing bespoke programming software.  Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to persuade and influence relevant stakeholders.
