CARES publishes updated Sustainability Report

03/12/2025

CARES has published its Sustainability Report covering data from 2024 and updates across 2025.

It explains how CARES main opportunity to influence sustainability comes through the adoption of its Sustainable Constructional Steel (SCS) scheme and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) program. As well as providing sector data on scheme implementation it explores CARES’ own impacts and how CARES is working to reduce them.

Highlights include the fast growth of stand-alone Environmental Product Declarations (EPD’s); the application and benefits of the CARES Cloud and digital material passport; and case studies demonstrating plans to decarbonise steel production, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and how CARES is supporting young engineers.

Lee Brankley, CEO said

“The construction industry has to navigate a confusing maze of supplier information. We are committed to supporting all our stakeholders in continuing to tackle the most challenging issues facing us all. Our 2025 Sustainability Report transparently and clearly demonstrates how our sustainability schemes and independent, third-party certification can drive Environmental, Social and Governance performance improvements across the constructional steel value chain.”
