ISTA joins CARES’ Policy Advisory Committee

09/11/2015

CARES is pleased to announce that the International Steel Trade Association (ISTA) has joined its Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) as a Chairman’s nominee to the committee.

ISTA represents companies and persons engaged in the international iron and steel trade. A number of its members import steel reinforcing bar (rebar) into the UK and are CARES-approved.

Simone Jordan of Ronly will represent ISTA on the PAC. Simone said, “ISTA members have a high regard for CARES and believe it plays an essential role in reassuring all parties in the rebar supply chain that steel supplied from a CARES-approved mill from wherever in the world the mill is situated complies with the requirements of the relevant standard, BS4449.”

Les Clark, Chairman of CARES said, “I am delighted that ISTA has joined our advisory committee. Simone will make a valuable contribution from the perspective of steel importers as we continue the development of CARES’ certification services for reinforcing steel products.”

The PAC advises the CARES Board and has representatives from across the whole of the reinforcing steel supply chain with organisations representing specifiers, contractors, users and manufacturers.

A full list of PAC members is published on the CARES website.
